A ThriveCart alternative that's the whole funnel, not just the cart
Looking for a ThriveCart alternative? ThriveCart is a cart. Here's what a funnel also needs, the three-year math, and how to own all of it for one payment.

If you're looking for a ThriveCart alternative, start with what ThriveCart is: a very good checkout. It gives you the cart page, the order bump, the upsells and the affiliates. It doesn't give you the sales page people read before they click buy, the emails that follow them, or the place your site lives. So most ThriveCart setups are really four tools. The owned alternative is one: the sales page, the checkout, the bump, the one-click upsell, the emails and your numbers, running on your own Cloudflare, Stripe and Resend accounts, with software you pay for once.
That's the short answer. Here's the long one, with the math, what you'd give up and who should stay put.
What ThriveCart is good at
ThriveCart earned its following for two reasons. First, the checkout is solid: bumps, one-click upsells and downsells, coupons, payment plans, cart abandonment and an affiliate centre, all in one place. Second, it sold itself as a one-time purchase in a world of monthly bills, and people loved it for that. It also takes no cut of your sales on top of your payment processor's fees.
If you already own a ThriveCart licence, already have a website and an email tool you're happy with, and the setup works, there's no pressing reason to move. This post is for people deciding now, or people who've noticed that the "one-time" part comes with a few extra bills attached.
What ThriveCart costs now
These are public list prices, October 2026, as reported by reviewers who checked ThriveCart's pricing in mid-2026. ThriveCart now leads with monthly plans, while the one-time Standard licence is still reported to be on sale. Card fees aren't included.
| Option | First year | Three years |
|---|---|---|
| ThriveCart Standard, one-time licence | $495 | $495 |
| ThriveCart Pro+, licence plus renewal | $790 | $1,380 |
| ThriveCart Standard, monthly ($47/mo) | $564 | $1,692 |
| ThriveCart Pro+, monthly ($87/mo) | $1,044 | $3,132 |
| FunnelOnce, lifetime | $297 | $297 |
Pro+ is the plan with the extra business features. Bought as a licence, it's $790 for the first year and then $295 a year from year two, so "pay once" only holds for Standard.
The bigger number isn't in the table. ThriveCart is the checkout. The sales page usually lives on a separate website or page builder, the welcome emails and broadcasts in a separate email tool, and each of those has its own bill. Add them up before comparing. The full side-by-side for the monthly platforms is on the comparison page.
What the job actually needs
A cart is one step of a funnel. The whole thing has six:
- A sales page that says what you sell, who it's for and what it costs.
- A checkout on that page, so buyers don't land on a different-looking site to pay.
- An order bump: one small add-on right before the card form. (How to pick and price one.)
- A one-click upsell after payment on the card they just used, with a lighter downsell if they say no. (How one-click upsells work.)
- Emails: the order and download links, a free gift for people not ready to buy, a welcome series, and a reminder for people who opened checkout and left.
- Numbers: where visitors came from, who clicked buy, who paid and which offers they took.
ThriveCart does steps 2 to 4 well. Steps 1, 5 and most of 6 happen somewhere else.

The owned version
Here's the whole funnel, on accounts in your name:
- Cloudflare hosts it. Your pages and the funnel logic run as a Cloudflare Worker. The free plan covers a small funnel; Workers Paid is $5 a month when traffic grows.
- Stripe takes the money. Payments land in your Stripe account. You pay Stripe's card fees and nothing on top.
- Resend sends the emails. Free up to 3,000 emails a month. Your list lives in your Resend account.
- FunnelOnce is the funnel. The sales page, the checkout window on that page, the bump, payment plans, discount codes, one-click upsells and downsells, the free gift with popups, the welcome emails, the checkout reminder, built-in analytics and an admin. Bought once, with every update.
If you also sell a course or a membership, the members area is in the same folder: lessons with drip and progress, downloads, coaching with booking, a community and affiliates. (How course access works on your own site: selling a course with Stripe.)
Nobody sits in the middle. Your buyers are customers in your Stripe and your subscribers are contacts in your Resend. (Why that matters.)
"Who sets it all up?"
Your AI does. FunnelOnce ships as a folder with a playbook written for AI coding agents like Claude, Cursor, Codex and Gemini. You open the folder in your agent and say what you sell:
I sell a $197 copywriting course. Add the swipe file as a $27 order bump, a one-click $97 review call after payment, and a free headline checklist to collect emails.
The agent builds the page, writes the config and runs the whole purchase on your computer with fake payments: checkout, bump, upsell, download, refund. Then it walks you through connecting your three accounts and putting it live. It won't take real money until you say so. The longer walkthrough is in building a sales funnel with Claude Code.
What you give up
Being straight about it:
- No drag-and-drop checkout editor. Your pages are HTML your AI writes and edits. You say "move the guarantee above the button" instead of dragging it.
- Stripe only. Payments go through your Stripe account: cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and whatever other methods Stripe offers in your country. There's no separate PayPal account to connect.
- You hold the keys. Stripe, Cloudflare and Resend are your accounts. When a key needs making, you make it, and the setup checker (
doctor) tells you which one. - Sales tax and VAT are on your side. You're the seller, and FunnelOnce's checkout doesn't calculate sales tax or VAT today. If you sell across many countries, talk to your accountant first.
Who should stay on ThriveCart
- You already own the Standard licence and you're happy with your site and email tool.
- You rely on a separate PayPal account or a specific ThriveCart integration.
- A team member runs it and knows it inside out.
Who should own the whole funnel
- You're buying now and would rather pay once for all six steps than once for one of them.
- You want your sales page, checkout and emails in one place that your AI can change in a sentence.
- You sell a course, coaching, downloads or a membership, and want the members area included.
- You launch new ideas often. Every new idea is a new folder, not a new plan or a new licence.
Still not sure? The two-minute quiz gives a straight answer, including "don't buy it yet" when that's the right one. And if you're comparing other pay-once options, there's a wider look at funnel builders with no monthly fee.
How to switch without losing sales
- Build the owned version next to ThriveCart. It runs on a free workers.dev address while you test.
- Recreate your products and offers in the config: prices, bumps, upsells, payment plans.
- Run a real test purchase, then refund it. That proves money in, delivery and refunds closing access.
- Move your list into your Resend audience. People who opted in stay opted in.
- Point your domain at the new site and swap your old checkout links for the new buy buttons.
- Keep ThriveCart running until existing payment plans and subscriptions have finished there.
There's a page written for this: leaving your funnel platform.
FAQ
What is the best ThriveCart alternative?
It depends on what you need. If you only want a checkout and already have a site and email tool, another cart is the closest swap. If you want the sales page, checkout, upsells, emails and analytics in one place you own, FunnelOnce runs the whole funnel on your own Cloudflare, Stripe and Resend for a one-time price.
Is ThriveCart still a one-time payment?
Reviewers who checked in mid-2026 report the Standard licence is still sold for $495 once, while ThriveCart's pricing page now leads with monthly plans. Pro+ bought as a licence renews at $295 a year from year two. Check ThriveCart's own pricing page before you buy.
Is there a ThriveCart alternative with no monthly fee?
Yes. FunnelOnce is bought once, and the accounts it runs on have free plans that cover a small funnel: Cloudflare's free plan, Stripe's per-transaction fees only, and Resend's free tier up to 3,000 emails a month.
Can I move my ThriveCart customers?
Export your customers and contacts before you switch and bring them into your Resend audience and the built-in CRM. Leave existing payment plans and subscriptions to finish in ThriveCart, and send new buyers through the new checkout.
