Go live and take real payments

Your site goes live in Stripe's test mode first, so you can buy with a test card and check everything. When you're happy, switch to real payments.

1. Tell your agent "go live"

Your agent never switches to real payments without a clear yes from you. When you say so:

1. Put your live restricted key in .secrets (same permissions as the test one, made in live mode).
2. Give your agent the live publishable key (pk_live_…).
3. Your agent redeploys and runs a full check of your accounts, keys, domain and email. Every ✗ comes with what to fix.

2. Make one real purchase

Buy your own product with a real card, then refund it from the Stripe dashboard. That proves the whole loop: money in, the order email, the download, and the refund closing access.

3. Tell search engines

• Submit https://yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml in Google Search Console.
• Ask your agent to ping IndexNow, which tells Bing and others straight away.

Your launch checklist

• Every page reads right on a phone
• Prices, plans and offers are what you want
• The order email arrives and its links work
• Your admin email is in the admin list, and you can sign in
• Refund, terms and privacy pages have your business details
• No placeholder text left (your agent's check lists any)

FAQ

Can I go back to test mode?

Yes. Your agent swaps the keys back and redeploys. Test and live orders are kept apart by Stripe.

Where do I see my sales?

In your admin (/admin): the Funnel page shows visits to sales, and Checkouts lists every one. Stripe's dashboard has the payments themselves.
